Competition Rules & Regulations

The general framework governing every PT Junior Tour event.

Introduction

The PT Junior Tour is an international amateur competitive circuit established to provide a structured, competitive, and professionally governed environment for players.

The Tour is based in Portugal and consists of a total of [X] tournaments and 2 Major events held between January and March throughout the competitive season.

The competition is open to male and female players under the age of 24. All official tournaments are eligible for the World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR) as well as the European Golf Ranking.

The integrity of competition is a foundational principle of the Tour. All participants are expected to compete honestly, act professionally, respect tournament officials and fellow participants, and uphold the standards of conduct established within these Rules and related policies.

Together with our partner golf courses, the Tour aims to provide the highest possible competitive standards and playing conditions, allowing players to develop their game and compete in an environment defined by sporting excellence, course quality, and professional tournament organization.

Governance & Authority

The PT Junior Tour is governed by the Tournament Committee, which is responsible for all operational, disciplinary, and competitive decisions.

The Tournament Committee has final authority in all matters relating to competition, rules interpretation, and event management.

Decisions of the Tournament Committee are final and not subject to external appeal unless explicitly stated in a separate Appeals Procedure.

Eligibility

The competition is open to male and female amateur players under the age of 24 at the end of the relevant calendar year.

Players must comply with amateur status requirements as defined by The R&A Rules Limited.

The Tournament Committee reserves the right to accept or reject entries at its sole discretion.

Players may be required to present valid identification and proof of age during registration or at any time during the event.

Players under the age of 18 may be required to submit parental or legal guardian consent forms prior to participation.

Format

Competitions will be played in an individual stroke play format.

Unless otherwise stated, tournaments will consist of 54 holes played over three rounds with no cut.

The Tournament Committee reserves the right to modify the number of rounds, playing schedule, or format due to weather conditions, safety concerns, or operational circumstances.

All pairings and starting times will be published through the official Tour communication channels.

Entries

Entries must be submitted through the official registration platform before the published closing date.

Entry fees must be paid in full by the deadline established in the regulations of each individual event, unless otherwise stated.

Incomplete or unpaid entries may be rejected.

The Tournament Committee may establish maximum field sizes and waiting lists for each event.

Players are responsible for ensuring that all registration information provided is accurate and up to date.

Player Conduct

All participants must comply with the PT Junior Tour Code of Conduct, which remains in force throughout all official Tour activities and events.

Caddies

The use of caddies is not permitted in PT Junior Tour events.

Scoring and Results

Players are responsible for the accuracy of their scorecards in accordance with the Rules of Golf.

The use of the official live scoring system is mandatory for all players throughout the competition. Players are responsible for ensuring that scores are entered correctly and updated during the round as instructed by the Tournament Committee.

Official results become final once approved and published by the Tournament Committee.

Additional tie-breaking procedures, where applicable, may be published in the regulations of each individual event.

Pace of Play Policy

Players are expected to play at a reasonable pace and maintain their position on the course at all times during the competition.

Spectators

Spectator access and behavior are governed by the PT Junior Tour Spectator Policy, which applies to all official events.

The Tournament Committee reserves the right to restrict or remove spectator access at any time in the interest of safety, pace of play, or competition integrity.

Prizes and Rankings

Tournament results may count towards the PT Junior Tour Ranking, WAGR, the European Golf Ranking, and other approved ranking systems where applicable.

Prize structures, trophies, and awards will be communicated individually for each event.

Players must complete all tournament rounds and comply with Tour requirements to remain eligible for rankings and awards.

Media, Image Rights and Communications

By participating in the Tour, players and guardians authorize the PT Junior Tour to capture and use photographs, video recordings, interviews, and other media content related to official Tour activities.

Such content may be used for tournament coverage, promotional materials, social media, broadcast, marketing, and historical archive purposes.

Safety and Safeguarding

The PT Junior Tour is committed to providing a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for all participants.

Any safeguarding concerns, misconduct, harassment, abuse, or inappropriate behavior involving minors must be reported immediately to the Tournament Committee or designated safeguarding representative.

The Tournament Committee reserves the right to suspend or remove any participant or attendee where safety concerns arise.

Liability

Players participate in the Tour at their own risk.

The PT Junior Tour, host venues, sponsors, and organizers shall not be held responsible for loss, theft, injury, damage, or expenses incurred during participation in any official event except where required by applicable law.

Amendments

The PT Junior Tour reserves the right to amend, update, or modify these Rules and Regulations at any time where necessary for operational, legal, safety, or competitive integrity reasons.

The most recent published version of these Rules shall prevail.

Final Provisions

Participation in any PT Junior Tour event constitutes acceptance of these Rules and Regulations.
